Welcome geek! You’ve stumbled upon the one privacy policy on the internet that won’t make you question your life choices. Grab your favorite energy drink, adjust your RGB lighting, and let’s talk about what we do with your data. First off…
What Even Is This Website?
BuildMyPC.com.ng is your friendly neighborhood PC building companion that lets you:
- Use our AI PC Builder Tool to assemble your dream rig (or nightmare budget build, we don’t judge)
- Get AI-generated builds because sometimes you want a robot to tell you what to buy
- For the die-hard perfectionist, use the manual option to carefully select your components
- Save your builds for later contemplation and buyer’s remorse prevention
- Compare public saved builds (for logged-in users)
- Price updates for saved builds
- and oh… We also publish build guides and general PC-related stuff, you know.
The Guest Pass vs. VIP Membership
Option 1: The Anonymous Lurker (No Account)
You can absolutely use our AI build generator, or manually slap together a PC build, and save your precious builds without creating an account with us. That’s fine, but there’s just one tiny catch: your builds will be visible to the public (You’ll find it in the COMPLETED BUILDS page). Think of it as contributing to the great PC building knowledge base of humanity. You’re basically a digital philanthropist. Your saved builds might inspire someone, or become a cautionary tale. Either way, you’re leaving your mark.
Option 2: The Registered Pro (With Account)
Create an account and unlock the VIP experience:
- Save private builds (for those “definitely not mining crypto” configurations)
- Compare builds side-by-side like you’re judging a hardware beauty pageant
- Rate public builds because everyone’s a critic
- Get price update notifications so you can weep when that GPU goes on sale the day after you bought it
- And more exciting features we haven’t thought of yet!
Your Email: Locked Away Like Your Bitcoin Wallet
When you create an account, we store your email in our database. Here’s what we do with it:
What We DO:
- Send you price updates on your saved builds (because we know you’re refreshing Newegg anyway)
- Send you build reminders (in case you forgot about that $5,000 dream build from 3am)
- Send promotional/marketing emails about deals, new features, and occasionally pictures of really cool PCs
What We DON’T DO:
- Sell your email to third parties (we’re not monsters)
- Share it with other users (your email is more private than your browser history)
- Use it to sign you up for random newsletters about things you don’t care about
By signing up, you’re consenting to receive these emails. It’s like subscribing to a newsletter, but with less regret.
Security Stuff (Because We’re Not Amateur Hour)
Passwords: You can change your password anytime in your dashboard. We recommend something stronger than “password123” or your cat’s name. Mix it up. Make it spicy. Add some special characters. Live dangerously.
Credit Cards: We DON’T store credit card information because we don’t actually sell anything. We’re like the friend who gives great shopping advice but never carries cash. We just point you toward e-commerce stores where you can throw your money at RGB-lit dreams.
Email Address: It’s stored securely in our database, encrypted and protected like the One Ring. Other users can’t see it, access it, or send you creepy DMs about your hardware choices.
Cookies (Not the Chocolate Chip Kind)
Our server uses cookies for:
- Better user experience (remember your preferences, saved settings, etc.)
- Faster page loads on repeat visits (because nobody likes waiting)
These are technical cookies, not tracking-you-across-the-internet cookies. We’re not following you around the web like a creepy ex.
The Amazon Thingy
Full disclosure: We have an affiliate relationship with Amazon. This means:
- When you click our links and buy stuff, we might earn a small commission
- This helps keep the lights on and the servers running
- We are NOT responsible for product quality, shipping times, or why Amazon delivered your CPU to your neighbor’s house
- If your RAM arrives as a potato, that’s between you and Amazon
We only affiliate with Amazon. We’re loyal like that. More stores loading.
Breaking Up Is Hard to Do
Want to delete your account? We get it. Sometimes you need to start fresh, or maybe you’ve ascended to a higher plane where you build PCs through telepathy.
To close your account, email us at: privacy@buildmypc.com.ng
(That’s privacy @ buildmypc . com . ng for you humans. Email scrapers, please find another hobby.)
We’ll process your request and delete your data. No hard feelings. We’ll always remember the builds you could have built.
The Fine Print (Don’t cry. No hidden catch)
We Reserve the Right To:
- Update this policy when we add cool new features
- Send you actually useful emails (we promise to keep the spam to a 0)
- Use common sense when it comes to your data
You Have the Right To:
- Stop using the service anytime (but why would you?)
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails (there’s always a link at the bottom)
- Contact us with questions, concerns, or pictures of your completed builds
For the Geeks, By the Geeks
Look, we’re tech enthusiasts just like you. We built this site because we wanted a better way to plan PC builds, not because we wanted to harvest your data like some kind of digital farmer. Your privacy matters to us, and we’re committed to being transparent about what we do with your information.
If you have questions, concerns, or just want to argue about whether Intel or AMD is better (it’s AMD, fight me), reach out to us at: privacy@buildmypc.com.ng
Now go forth and build something awesome. May the PC force be with thee.
TL;DR: We collect your email to send you useful updates and occasionally promote cool stuff. We don’t sell your data. We use cookies for basic functionality. Amazon might give us a few pennies if you buy through our links. You can delete your account anytime. We’re the good guys.
